UnForm manages permissions at a library level.  Permissions granted are read, read/write, and read/write/delete, granting the ability to view, update, or remove records from a library.  The following settings determine what access a given user has to a given library.  Note these permission rules apply to UnForm 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0.

System defaults

These set default access as any new library is created.  They are managed in the browser Server Manager, on the Configuration, Archiving tab.

Library defaults

When a library record is maintained, you can define the default read, write, delete settings for the library.  These settings apply to any user who does not have specific library settings or group membership.  They are typically set to read, or nothing.

User settings

User records include optional settings for non-default library access, on the Access tab in Users maintenance.  On the
Access tab, if the Default column is checked, default library settings or group settings will apply.  If the Default column is unchecked, then you can set that user's specific settings for that library.  Those permissions are the only permissions granted to that user for that library.  This overrides group settings, even if that user is a member of a group with different permissions.

Users can also be assigned membership to groups that have been defined, and if they have default access to a library, group memberships will override that default access.

Group settings

Groups are also given specific access to libraries.  Users who are members of any group, who also have Default access to a library, get the permissions associated with all their groups.  All group settings apply, so if a user is a member of two groups, one which has read access, another with read/write access, the user will have read/write access to the library.
